“NaviSite selected Sentrum via an extensive search of the UK data centre market and after engaging 3rd party consultants to explore our best options. A long term lease on a sizeable amount of technical real estate is not a decision we took lightly and we were keen to find someone who could deliver on budget and who we’d be happy to partner with for ten or fifteen years. Ultimately Sentrum were not only the most credible, but also the most cost-effective.
The experience of the team was a key attraction, we felt very comfortable with that fact that they’d built out over 3 million sq ft of space in their careers and this level of expertise was rapidly apparent during early negotiations and the design and planning stages. Our needs were quickly understood and anticipated – it was entirely obvious we were in very safe hands.
Throughout the build phase of the project, Sentrum were flexible and accommodating – in any project that size there are problems and set-backs and what distinguishes a good partner is how those are dealt with. We never felt Sentrum were anything less than in complete control and could adapt rapidly to the challenges of an accelerated build.
The site was ultimately delivered over the Christmas holiday – traditionally a difficult time to engage and sustain resource, but we took receipt of a functioning data hall in time for January 1st.
Now 18 months into the operational deployment we continue to be impressed with the management team and we feel sure we made the best decision. Events and incidents are dealt with quickly, Sentrum’s processes and people really work and we are always impressed by their follow up and detailed reporting.
We have now engaged Sentrum on two further projects and would not hesitate to recommend them.”
