Infrastructure: Security

Security
Sentrum’s state of the art, multi-level security infrastructure balances clients’ security requirements with the need for quick and easy access to equipment at any time of day or night. The installation of additional security features such as biometric or optical readers, interlocked lobbies and mantraps is also available if required. Client areas remain secure at all times, even in an evacuation situation, to maintain the highest level of security.
Key security features of Sentrum data centres include:
- High security weldmesh perimeter fencing up to SEAP 3 level with razor wire or rota spike topping and a 2m sterile zone
- Geoquip trembler is installed on the fencing to provide early warning of intrusion attempts and will activate the CCTV cameras to cover the point of activation
- CCTV provision on the perimeters up to SEAP 3 with infrared sensitivity, with options for manually switched external lighting.
- Vehicle traps, gates and inspection areas to accommodate both personal vehicles and larger articulated lorries with vehicle arrest gates and vehicle blockers or rising bollards to prevent vehicle attack.
- Enhanced security walling to building perimeters with concrete walling and security doors up to SEAP
- Construction of internal areas up to List X with circlelocks to data halls
- Access control using proximity card readers, supplemented with key pad or biometrics, where required to provide multiple levels of security throughout the data centre
- 24/7 manned and centralised security room in each facility
